7 Flattering Swimsuit Trends for 2017 Under $50

Hello from Destin, Florida! What a crazy few days it’s been! With a 10-hour road trip ride from Houston, TX to Destin, FL, all-day rain, and consistent chilly weather, it’s been an unexpected few days. Nonetheless, spending time with my family has been an absolute blast and I’m already trying my best to get the thought of leaving them at the end of this week out of my head.

7 Flattering Swimsuit Trends for 2017 Under $50

In honor of my spring break, I thought it’d be a fun idea to share some of my favorite swimsuit trends of the season with some notes of what to look for according to your body type and more! Plus, all of these picks are under $50, so you can try something new without breaking the bank. Let’s get browsing, shall we?

Tropical Print Swimwear

I’m all about tropical prints this season! Whether they’re palm leaves or colorful florals, I love that a fun print can serve as a way to draw attention to a specific body part you love or conversely distract from a problem area. (Food baby belly, anyone?) All of these pieces are so fun, but I’m extremely excited to debut this halter beauty on the beach.

Plunge Swimwear

If you’re eager to try out a one-piece without sacrificing style, this plunge trend is incredibly chic and just downright sexy. This style is quite bold, so go without fear in this one – you’ll be sure to turn heads! Pair one with a floppy hat and some large sunnies, and you’ll be ready to hit the pool in style.

Mesh Swimwear

The addition of mesh in any bathing suit makes it instantly sexier and more breathable. I love how different the styles range with this trend – from scalloped and sweet to athletic and sporty. I’m especially loving the flattering mesh on this $46 diamond mesh cupped swimsuit.

One-Shoulder Swimwear

The one-shoulder look has been trending in dresses, tops, and now swimsuits this season. This look is striking and a very flattering, chic way to highlight a feminine decolletage or even balance strong, broad shoulders.

Cutout Swimwear

Similar to the plunge style, cutouts are an easy way to up any one-piece game and make it more interesting. Contrary to popular belief, cutouts can actually look tasteful if done in moderation. Strategic side cutouts can create curves while ones in the middle can highlight an athletic body’s toned abs. Hey, if you’re all for showing off a little more skin, that’s cool, too! I’m incredibly excited to wear this $24 scalloped one-piece. It’s almost an exact dupe for this $348 Marysia Swim Antibes scallop-edged swimsuit and this $150 Kate Spade cutout one-piece.

High-Neck Tank Swimwear

This style is sure to keep you held in for more rigorous sports activities at the pool or on the beach. If you have sloped shoulders, a long neck, and a small bust, this look can be extremely flattering on you. It’s a sporty look that comes in lots of styles to suit you!

Off-the-Shoulder Swimwear

The OTS trend has proven to stay! While it’s not the most practical thing to wear if you want to be active on the beach or at the pool, this feminine look is cute for lounging around by the water. Plus, it can take you from beach to street super easily paired with some high-waisted shorts. I have to be honest: this look isn’t as flattering on me as it is on others, but hey, there are lots of other options! Hallelujah for that.

Do you have a swimsuit you’ve had your eye on recently? What recent swimsuit trends have you been loving? I’d absolutely love to know! Today marks Day 3 of this spring break trip, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of this week holds. If the weather clears up today, I think we’ll be headed back to the beach again…possibly in a swimsuit!
