It’s that time of the year! To you graduating high school seniors, a serious congratulations to you! You did it! I remember the months of May and June of my senior year being so, so exciting. I loved the dress I wore under my graduation gown, and I was really looking forward to celebrating with friends and family before heading off to college. They were all so generous and asked me what I wanted as gifts, but I honestly had no idea. So, Target and The Container Store gift cards were the obvious choice for my indecisive self. To help you out, I gathered some of the things that I reached for the most during my past two years of college and put them together into a list of high school graduation gift ideas that are both practical and stylish. Keep scrolling to see my gift ideas and read more about why I love each one:
1. Customized Nike Roshe One iD
These tennis shoes are completely customizable and super stylish + practical. They’re a great way of showing your thoughtfulness and your effort into a gift, and they’re sure to get some great use during walks to class in college and workouts at the gym. Pictured above are the ones I customized myself. I absolutely love the marble midsole!
2. Vince Camuto Crossbody Bag
A crossbody bag is the way. to. go. It’s my go-to purse for any situation, because I’m lazy and I really don’t like carrying anything on my arms when I’m out and about. This one is super stylish and it’s on major sale!
3. S’well Yellow Gold Bottle
Staying hydrated is super important, as we all know! I carry a water bottle with me at all times, and this one is gorgeous! The gold color makes me want to reach for it again and again.
4. Kendra Scott Elisa Necklace
Lots of girlfriends and I agree that this pretty little necklace is the necklace of choice for any outfit, because it’s simply stunning and matches with anything. Lucky for us, Kendra Scott is having a major sale – perfect for graduation season!
5. Flexible Shower Tote
This shower tote has served me very well. It’s the perfect way to carry my bathroom products from my dorm room to the showers. The reasons I like this particular one over others are that it has holes on the bottom for water to drain, you can clean it easily, and it’s flexible enough to hang it on a hook. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that it’s under $10. I loved this tote so much, I gifted one to a friend a few years ago and shared it on the blog in a shower tote graduation gift craft post.
6. Rain Jacket
It rains where I live, and it can be a miserable walk to class without proper rain gear. Besides a pair of good rain boots, a rain jacket is also one of my must-haves to keep my body and hair dry. I actually own an umbrella in college, but I never use it. I’m a bit embarrassed to say it again, but the reason I don’t carry one is because I’m too lazy. Having this waterproof backpack really helped my no-umbrella situation.
7. Monogrammed Towel Wrap
One of my favorite things ever is my towel wrap. I use it every day, and I love that I can walk back and forth from my dorm room to the showers without having to worry about my towel dropping down to the ground. That would be completely embarrassing! Having it monogrammed is a thoughtful and great way to personalize a rather generic gift.
8. Stylish Earbuds
Practical and pretty! Read my 10 Dorm Living Tips to find out why a good pair of earbuds/headphones is an important investment in college.
9. Fossil Vintage Muse Watch
Having a watch in college is super helpful when you need to check how much time you have left for a test and if you don’t want to risk embarrassing yourself in class by turning around to look at the clock. You don’t want to be that person that gets called out by the professor.
10. Laptop Case
A cute and practical case is completely necessary to protect your laptop. This one linked above comes in lots of patterns and colors and an option to add a monogram.
11. Vera Bradley Weekender Bag
I’ve used this bag for a few years now, and it’s perfect for a few days of travel or as an airplane carry-on. It’s easy to wash, surprisingly roomy, and great on top of a suitcase handle as shown here. I also love that it has a bunch of interior pockets and comes in lots and lots of colors and prints.
