How-To: Spring Floral Nails

{Floral Nails}
Yes, my obsession with anything floral has been mentioned an embarassing number of times. From dresses, headbands, home décor, and accessories, it’s pretty easy to tell that I’m addicted to the pattern. Since I loved it so much, I really wanted to have some floral nails before spring ended. It was always difficult and frustrating to find a pretty, floral nail design that was simple and easy to do, because my artistic ability is limited. Also, I wanted something that didn’t require a real dotting tool or specific brushes, until I came across this. If you’re more of a visual learner, click here. The design was so pretty and seemed simple enough, so I gave it a go and this is how it turned out:

I was super happy with the way it looked, so I wanted to make sure to share it with you guys! People kept asking if they were stickers! Hahaha!

Things I used:

From left to right:
– OPI Nail Polish Base Coat (to protect from staining)
– Sephora by OPI Nail Polish in Ocean Love Potion (any color you like will do)
– Pure ICE Nail Polish in Love (any light color similar to the dark one)
– Pure ICE Nail Polish in Rumors (any darker color similar to the light one)
– Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish in San Francisco
-Pure ICE Nail Polish in Creme Wild Thing
– Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Nail Polish in Clear’d For Takeoff (any topcoat)
– bobby pin to use as a dotting tool

Instructions:

1. Paint nails with base coat (optional) and use 2 coats of your choice for the base nail color.
2. Use a piece of scrap sheet of paper and put two generous dots of each desired color next to eachother so they touch. Use the end of a bobby pin as a dotting tool to dip in the middle of both, and get creative making some flowers.

3. Add some leaves by dipping the bobby pin into some green polish. (I mixed the two green polishes to get the desired color.)

4. Add a topcoat to seal it in.

No artistic flower painting ability needed, right? 🙂 Just dot it on!
