May always seems to put itself at the top of the busy months, and this year was no exception! From finishing up finals and packing up my dorm room to a huge event at home for my sister, my calendar was packed with things to do. And yes, I ate a lot of good food this month since being home, so be prepared. #noshame

The main highlight of my month was my younger sister’s big event. You might not know, but she is a crazy talented and hard-working pianist. This past weekend was one of her biggest piano performances she’s given to date for her friends, family, and teachers. It was held at The University of St. Thomas in Houston, and the performance had been in the works for months. Helping out with the planning process and watching her play difficult pieces with such poise was a real treat. I’m extremely proud of her work, and I’m so excited for her future as a musician. Here’s a picture of her below:

So, now some personal updates! If you follow along on my social media accounts (specifically my Instagram @sarah_thebella), you know that I decided to live in Austin for the month of June. Since I don’t have the chance to explore the city much during the school year, I’ve always dreamed of staying for the summer. I feel super grateful I have the opportunity to live in such a vibrant, fun city for another month, so be sure to stay tuned on the blog for lots more exploring and my adventures of “playing house” in my small apartment space – a refreshing departure from dorm living. I’ll let you know how that goes! Thanks for stopping, and I hope you have a lovely Tuesday!
Oh I need to try that Vietnamese place!

It's been so long since I had legit congee. That looks so good! 🙂
Hi, Carrie! It's a total hole-in-the-wall place! But boy, they do Vietnamese food well! Something about those mom and pop shops! XO, Sarah
Hi, Anita! That congee really brings me back to great, lazy Sundays at home and they make such great leftovers, since it tastes better the next day! I would love to get together! Email me at sarah@thebellainsider.com, and let's find a time! XO, Sarah
Wishing you the absolute best time in Austin (so jealous)! What an exciting time in your life!
