Spring has been in full swing for a while now in Austin. (Hello, allergies!) Though I love wearing bright-colored pieces all year round, I get especially excited for spring and summer, because I get to wear fun pieces like this yellow maxi dress!
eShakti reached out to me last month, and they were kind enough to let me customize a dress off their website. I’m a mere 5′ 1″, and finding a maxi dress that fits properly can be really difficult. Naturally, I chose this yellow dress off their site. I loved the long, gauzy fabric and the charming scalloped neckline with embroidery detailing. After entering in my measurements and choosing the sleeve and hem length I wanted…ta-da! Here I am with this dress today!
I am so happy with the way this yellow maxi dress turned out. I love that I was able to enter in all my measurements for a custom fit, because this dress fits me perfectly. I also love that there are 90+ ways to customize this dress! Oh! And the best part? I had the option to add pockets! Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets?! Obviously, I chose to have them with this dress.
I’ve watched Pride and Prejudice an embarrassing number of times these last few weeks, and this yellow maxi dress makes me channel my inner {modern} Jane Bennet. I plopped on my beloved DIY donut floppy hat for a fun addition to this yellow number.
I’m excited to wear this yellow maxi dress to church and Sunday brunch with girlfriends! Is there anything you’re looking forward to wearing this spring?
What a beautiful dress…looks amazing on you! xx

Gorgeous, I love it! You have a lovely smile and I can tell you're having a lot of fun during the shoot 🙂 I have a hard time finding maxi dresses too as I'm 5'3 so I feels.

That hat is AMAZING. I've never seen a hat look so delicious. I'm also 5'1" and I've had to get all of my maxi dresses hemmed…I feel your pain!

Hi Quynh! That is so sweet – thank you! I did have a lot of fun on this shoot! The photographer, Kelly, is a blast to work with. I'm hoping to find more luck in the maxi dress department in the future! XO, Sarah
Hi, Paige! Thank you! It's a little project I worked on a few years ago. Super easy DIY if you have a plain floppy hat and some acrylic paint laying around! Do you usually take your maxi dress to a seamstress? XO, Sarah
That color looks great on you! And I LOVE that hat!
